But any question of Chelsea leaving Terry out of the game at Ewood Park was emphatically squashed by manager Andre Villas-Boas.

While Chelsea insisted they would entertain no questions on the ongoing police inquiry, Villas-Boas said: "I believe he is in the right frame of mind to play, yes.

And despite only one win in the last four games in all competitions, Villas-Boas insisted there is no mood of doom and gloom.
