Mel C's holiday heaven and hell
I love the Park Hyatt in Hamburg, which feels like a home from home. They have a lovely restaurant, fantastic service and a gym and spa. It is comfortable, with lots of wood and earthy tones – very relaxing. I've been so many times that I know all the doormen and they always say, "Welcome back!"
What do you need for your perfect holiday?
I like to feel the sun on my skin and to swim in the ocean. The first year Thomas and I returned to Barbados, we stayed at Sandy Lane and spent New Year's Eve with Michael Winner and Simon Cowell, which was hilarious.
What do you always take with you?
Green tea and my iPad.
What's your best piece of travel advice?
Drink lots of water and, if you're flying short-haul, buy food at the airport.
Where do you want to go next?
New Zealand. I've heard so many reports of how beautiful it is, and that it's very outdoorsy. Thomas and I love cycling and hiking, so it sounds ideal.
