Aston Villa: Ticket touts already charging £1300 for Carling Cup Final tickets
GREEDY online ticket touts are trying to cash in on Aston Villa’s Carling Cup success by charging more than £1,300 for a pair of seats at Wembley.
Scores of fans are set to miss-out on the February 28 clash as only 31,000 tickets are being released to the club.
But die-hard supporters are being warned not to turn to internet sites who claim to have secured an allocation already – and are selling seats at exorbitant prices.
And those tempted to buy from touts could find themselves knocked back at the turnstiles for having counterfeits.
A Sunday Mercury investigation has found some greedy profiteers demanding between £335 and £687 for the precious tickets.
The tickets being offered on website 1st4footballtickets.com come with corporate hospitality, but are only available to buy in pairs, with some costing more than £1,300.
The prized passes should retail at between £40 and £80 each.
The site claimed to have seats available just hours after Villa beat Blackburn Rovers 7-4 to secure their final spot against Manchester City or Man Utd. Yet the official allocation does not go on sale until Wednesday when priority will be given to season ticket holders.
